Last Friday during a press conference, Premier John Horgan and Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General Mike Farnworth announced as a necessary measure a rebate on gasoline prices for ICBC subscribers who have been affected by fuel price increases in recent months.
Both leaders acknowledged the hardship that British Columbians are dealing with on a daily basis as prices for basic services such as rent, mortgage and groceries rise exorbitantly. The statements also noted the growing impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on fuel prices, which could influence decisions on new policy mechanisms to benefit residents.Â
