The climate proposal to be presented this week by the Liberals aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% to 45% within ten years. With a total of 9 climate plans since 1990, Canada has set the same targets but has failed to fully meet the climate projections stipulated in the various proposals.
Despite the failure to meet climate targets over the years, this plan is expected to change the trend of failure, as it involves a much more detailed and disaggregated proposal, which will address more specific projections and measures for each sector, according to Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson.
