Alberta legislature approved this Thursday with 48 votes in favor and 9 against, a budget of 62 billion dollars. Part of the resources will be destined to cover as a priority the hiring of more private surgical centers for the attention and continuous care in the face of covid-19.
It could be the most balanced budget for the province of Alberta, as long as the government strictly adheres to its spending plans and the price of a barrel of oil remains sustainably above $70. Despite the investments in health, education, justice and social services that are stipulated within the plan, the NDP opposition still rates the provincial budget’s resources as too meager.
